"Encouraging this generation of scientists to inspire the next."

Volunteer this year
We are a not for profit company, seeking to inspire the next generation of those studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (the so called “STEM” subjects).

Through working with schools, universities, businesses and other organisations, we aim to increase the number of young people choosing these sciences - as subjects in school, degrees in higher education and as careers.

Inspiring STEM School Pupils

Carefully selected and trained STEM undergraduates are matched with local schools and over two semesters they spend a session a week, for 14 weeks, supporting and enriching learning.

From taking half a class for an hour long practical session, to running an afternoon of revision, our undergraduates work with teachers to establish and provide a role that will best complement and enhance existing lesson structures.

Inspiring STEM undergraduates

This programme is an opportunity for undergraduates to do something fulfilling and enjoyable while at university and it also equips them with invaluable, transferrable knowledge and skills that will stand them in great stead for the world of work – and, more generally, life.

The classroom experience itself, which our volunteers gain, develops many skills and attributes favourably looked upon by employers. We offer them even more than this, however, through our partnerships with employers, university employability and career departments and other organisations. Skill sessions and workshops with these groups will ensure that the undergraduates excel in their school roles and get the most out of their experiences. These extended networks will also help emphasise the huge variety of opportunities available through STEM
careers and they aim to open up invaluable networking opportunities that may ultimately lead to an increased likelihood of the undergraduates securing work placements, internships and potentially careers.
